Well, howdy. It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. Sorry about that. Okay, not really. Life happens, and all that snow we got sapped any motivation I had to write something clever. So I kept it to status updates on Facebook. Twitter. Whatever.
The snow’s finally melted and today was 87 degrees warm, so it’s high time to write in complete sentences again. Don’t you think so? Here it is, Holy Week already. I’ve been reading along with this online devotional during Lent – it’s been wonderful to take a few minutes each day to reflect on Jesus’ journey to the cross. Today’s reading (on Jesus washing his friends’ feet) and the prayer struck a chord with this mama:
Loving God, help me to be humble in the ways I love others. Fill the ordinary tasks of my days with inspired hospitality. Help me to be mindful of your example of simple acts of love when I am frustrated or worn down by the dreariness of the day’s work. Inspire me to do all things well and with great love. Amen.
Amen and amen.
Gonna rain tomorrow. I’m hoping for the first thunderstorm of the season. I’ve got hot cross buns on the docket tomorrow, too. I make them for the minis on Good Friday instead of taking communion just yet. Let’s hope those turn out well, too. 🙂
However you get there, I hope your Holy Week journey leads you to the cross. Happy Easter!
